What should an inmate have in his cell?. I think it should be just the basic things.
1 Bible
1 Shaving Mug
1 Disposable Razor, every three days to be changed.
1 Bed, Bedding to change once a week.
1 Sink + Toilet.
Now that should be it, we hear in the news that inmates are getting all kinds of things in their cells, even mobile phones were they can call out for take away food that is ( in open prisons). But these things have to be stopped.

Lockdown County Jail
Lockdown
(Food for County Jail Inmates)
When the County Jail is on lockdown their is no movement anywhere by the inmates, they don't get any visits and the kitchen is not used. But the inmates still need to be fed. So the guards make sandwiches and cold drinks, the guards passes around these packed lunches. The most these lockdowns go on for is three days . But they do seem to have a lot of lockdowns over the space of a year. Where they look in the cells of the inmates for drugs and other contraband items.

Escape From A UK Prison
Over the last few years their have been a few escapes from the prison van sweat box. Here is a video taken from inside the prison van as the escape is in progress. In the video you can see that the inmates were uncuffed as they leave their cells. Were they cuffed sitting in the cell for the journey? On these journey's their is a driver and also a guard that sits in the back with the prisoners in the walk way out side the cell doors.

British Prison Vans
These vans are known as "The Sweat Box" here are two photos to show how they look each window is in fact a very small holding cell, just the room for one man to sit in. If he is a tall man over 6 ft then he's knee's are pressed up to the door of the cell. The van's can range from a two door cell up to a twelve door cell van. These van's are used to take inmates from prison to prison and from court to prison/ Each van has one driver and one guard that sits out side the little walk way that runs the length of the van. In the past their has been a number of escapes from these vans. As it is the weakest link in the operation. I will talk more about one of these escapes in more detail later on.
