I found these photos a while ago and was trying to find out more about the shackles that these inmates are wearing. Which I have not seen before, I think these photos where taken in the late 30's of early 40's. But they are a great set of phots, Let me know what you all think?.

On arrival to the Alactraz Prison each inmate gets a mug shot taken, also they get a mug shot taken when they leave too.
I also think that each year they have a refresher mug shot taken. I wonder if anyone can help me with this?.
As I have seen a few mug shots taken of these inmates in the middle years of their sentences.

Also they have mug shots taken which are known as Holiday mug shots, these are mug shots of inmates dressed in white shirts and striped tie. Which the inmates can send home to their familys.

To different colored jail suits, but still the same cuffs and chains in place.
