Here are some early mug shots of inmates that were held at the start of the Federal  Prison at Alcatraz. Alcatraz opened august 1934. These inmates were transferred from other Federal Prisons at Atlanta, McNeil Island and Leavenworth. They are:
Frank Souza AZ 37 Counterfeiting 10 years.
Hal Frenandez AZ 39 Lareny 3 years
Harry Dean AZ 41 Postal laws and Assault 25 years.
James J. Walsh AZ 43 Murder, 1st Degree, Life
George W. Karr AZ 45 Postal Law and Robbery 27 years.
