The Prison Farm.

The Prison Farm

In the 30's and 40's  USA. The prison farms were in a lot of use. Inmates were sent to these farms for hard labor, working on the farm's, road work and the famous chain gang. As part of the prisom farm the inmates worked six days per week with only Sunday's off. They did have three meals a day.The lunch meal is taken out on the road or farm as part of their work detale. The inmates are housed in a dorm room setting. In different states it was a lot harder to do your time. Also in some states the inmates are dressed in the Black and White striped clothes as seen in the (1932) film " I am a fugitive from a chain gang".
